reviews of Catsino Slot by Rival

Even if you're one of those who shall not be named (i.e. a dog person) then this slot machine might still make you giddy with excitement thanks to a series of fun free spin rounds with multipliers. And if you play your spins right, you might even be invited to play a highly prestigious 9 Lives Super Round with a 7x multiplier.

So the game starts with a nice intro video that shows many cats all dressed up having fun at casino and playing slots. The game symbols are just cats and letters, nothing too surprising but it looks good. There is a wild symbol and also a free spins bonus round, triggered by 3 or more scatter symbols.

Catsino is a new game from Rival software that I tried out very recently. I am a cat person and I liked the name of this slot so I was intrigued to see what they've come up with. The name of this slot really fits the game as the slot is about cats in a casino. That is a quite funny theme, if you ask me.

Overall Catsino is a decent game from Rival and I had nice time with it. I think that design is quite predictable but pleasant and I like that the game is simplistic and that there are only one bonus. I do think that with some luck you can achieve nice winnings in free spins but this won't become a game I play regularly because it can be a money eater and on base game it's hard to get a win over 10x bet.

I had one decent session with this game and it really felt like the game structurally was very similar to some other latest Rival slots like Thunderbird, as they all have 50 paylines and similar free spins bonus round. As I just mentioned, this game can be quite expensive as the minimum bets are set to 0.50€ so you probably can't play this game with a low balance. But there are some things I found to like about it and it's the free spins bonus round. When you have it, you get 9 free spins and they have no multiplier, however, the wild symbol in free spins multiplies winnings 5x.

But if you manage to get 3 scatters in the free spins, it triggers super bonus round where you get 9 additional spins with wilds that have 7x multiplier. Because of this feature I have managed to get my best win so far on this game, which is 60x bet win. The free spins are quite easy to trigger, but that being said, only in few of my bonus rounds I managed to trigger the super bonus, and without it, it's hard to get any nice winnings because of the 1x multiplier.

I don't have much complains on this Catsino game. It played not too badly for me, affording 20x to 30x wins, and with one nice 109x win from the Super Round free spins, but both the Free Spins game and the Super Round free spins game can also pay nothing, as I later found out.

One big disadvantage is that, if the Super Round free spins don't pay, or doesn’t give any retrigger, then there's no other chances of getting more wins, because the initial Free Spins Game itself cannot be retriggered. The payouts in the base game are usually not that good either. Nevertheless, Catsino is one of the better games from Rival software.

The Green-eyed Cat is the Wild symbol in Catsino, multiplying 3x all wins with it in the base game, multiplying 5x all wins with it in the Free Spins game, and multiplying 7x all wins with it in the Super Round Free Spins game. Hmm, not bad at all, except that the Wild symbol doesn't pay anything for itself, it doesn't become stacked or expanded, but it does substitutes for other symbols except the Scatter symbol.

Cats that have homes to stay at and to come home to, are very lucky cats. Most others are homeless. The streets and the alleys are where they sleep at. Pity these creatures. They never get to enjoy life as they should, unlike some cats, which live in big houses and grand mansions. They get to really enjoy their lives. At times, they even get to join their owners having some wild times. The owners to the Casino, the cats to Catsino, where else! Yep, I've already seen dogs playing poker with their dog mates, with poker cards in their hooves, in a Dogsino. Now it's time to see cats playing table games, with cat croupiers and cat dealers, and even with cat Pit Bosses. Welcome to Catsino, the only place to be for rich cats.

The Purple Cat is the Scatter symbol (a purple-coloured cat?), a dumb Scatter symbol nonetheless, because it doesn't pay anything for itself, except to trigger 9 free spins with Super Round free spins when 3 or more of them appears anywhere on the reels. Nope, sorry, more free spins cannot be retriggered. All you can hope for is to get that Super Round free spins during the Free Spins game in order to see some nice decent good wins. I wouldn't say nice big wins, because the chances of getting those are practically non-existent.

As for the other symbols in the game, the Money pays 1250x, the Chip pays 1000x, the Rich Cat pays 600x, and the others pay from 500x to 75x, all per line bet for 5 of each kind. The paytable is still a low one because both the Wild and the Scatter symbols do not pay for themselves, which is a pity really, making the single maximum possible win to only 175x the total bet, which is very low indeed. However, the Super Round free spins could produce bigger overall wins with its 7x multiplier, but only when it is time for the game to pay. Otherwise, even those Super Round free spins wouldn’t be able to produce any nice decent wins. Empty spins just cannot pay, can they?
